We hear you, because we are just like you.

The Hello Chef staff has been extremely busy this autumn. But we haven’t forgotten about date nights. We like romance. We like love! But sometimes we just don’t have the energy to leave the house to go and dine in a fancy restaurant. Frankly, we also get better food at home.

So, we decided to treat our customers to a whole new concept: The gourmet recipe. A special treat, that can be found in the new Choice Box.

Our weekly gourmet recipe features premium cuts of meat, fish or seafood, and some high-end seasonal produce. You can choose it as one of your 4 weekly recipes.

The gourmet recipe has a small surcharge, but we believe it is well worth it, as it will elevate a weeknight dinner to a restaurant-style dining experience.

FAQ’s

Does ‘gourmet’ mean they’re harder to cook?

Not at all! Our gourmet recipes are as easy and quick to cook as the rest of the Hello Chef recipes. They usually consist of high-value proteins, two or three sides, and a sauce. You’ll find that the sides and sauces are indulgent, the flavours are a bit more complex than usual, and the whole dinner just has that special “cheffy” appearance. The cooking process is still very straight forward, and the recipe card is as easy-to-follow as always.

What’s been the biggest inspiration for creating these recipes?

We wanted to add a bit style and sophistication to our offerings so that you could have even more delicious home-cooked meals to look forward to. Maybe you have a special occasion coming up mid-week – or you want to transform an ordinary evening into something extraordinary. We get the inspiration for our gourmet recipes from modern restaurant-style dining: contemporary flavour combinations and classic cooking methods.

Are they suitable for kids?

Absolutely! A gourmet dinner at home is the perfect opportunity to have children try something a bit more fancy, and to practice those table manners for future restaurant experiences. Because the flavours in our gourmet recipes are slightly more complex than usual, you might want to separate a batch of ingredients and adjust the cooking process as well as the seasoning as you go. For example, you might want to cook the meat or fish to a bit more well done, or add some of the spices and condiments in the end, after plating their share.
