Hello Chef’s family-friendly recipes just got better!

By Aug 26, 2020 Family time

Parents, we hear you.

Cooking for little ones isn’t always the easiest of tasks, especially when they’re discovering new flavours, textures and tastes – some of which they’re not so keen on!

We’re hugely passionate about enjoying food as a family here at Hello Chef. That’s why we’ve refined our family-friendly, weekly classic recipes to ensure that they can be easily tailored to suit the tastes of everyone at the table. In our latest menu development, we now have 12 weekly classics that circulate on a 6-week rotation – meaning at least two can be ordered every week. (That’s two brand-new recipes on the rotation!)

But that’s not all. We’ve also revamped some of our existing weekly classics with new twists, including refreshed sides and flavoursome sauces. To make the dishes extra child-friendly, our recipe developers advise that you check out the ‘tips for fussy eaters’ memo that can be found on every recipe card in the meal kit.

Curious to know more? Read on to discover our two brand-new recipes, plus a round-up of just some of the weekly classics that can be found on the Hello Chef menu over the coming weeks…

NEW! Cheesy Chicken and Tomato Pasta Bake

The latest addition to our weekly classic menu is this delicious, child-friendly pasta bake – because a cheesy plate of pasta is always a good idea! Adding honey to the sauce enhances the sweetness of the tomatoes, which the little ones are sure to be grateful for.

NEW! Classic Chili Con Carne with Rice and Sour Cream

Unwind after a busy day with this easy-to-make comfort dish (it’s also a great one to make ahead if you’re hoping to meal prep on a weekend.) For a child-friendly dish, leave the chipotle and sriracha out. Add a splash of cream or some cream cheese to round up the flavour even more, and serve the tomatoes to the side.

Chicken Tikka Masala with Cucumber Salad

No need to order this takeaway favourite, when you can have it on the table yourself in just 30 minutes! We love how easy it is to adjust the spice level accordingly to your family’s taste buds with this recipe. Plus, the addition of the cucumber salad provides an added freshness to the dish – and counts towards that five-a-day for the whole family!

Classic Cheese Burger with Wedges

We love to invite the kids to the kitchen for this one, so that they can get their hands stuck into making the burger patties themselves. To make this one extra child-friendly, leave the Dijon, chives and smoked paprika out!

Parmesan Chicken Nuggets with Potato Cubes and Slaw

This recipe takes chicken nuggets and chips to the next level. Bypass the breadcrumbs and swap for grated parmesan to give the nuggets that gorgeous golden coating. Go easy on the paprika if the little ones don’t like spice, and they may also prefer the apple to be omitted from the slaw and served as slices on the side instead.

Classic Spaghetti Bolognese with Parmesan

A true family-favourite, this super simple bolognese recipe provides equal doses of both comfort and flavour. The kids may insist on serving it with ketchup, which is fine by us!
