Staff Passion: Yassine the Butcher

Hello Chef proudly presents our in-house butcher Yassine Bounouala, 28. He is the man behind our beautifully cut, fresh pieces of meat – and basically every other ingredient packed . Read what he has to say about the ingredients that Hello Chef packs to the delivery boxes.

Yassine comes from a family of butchers. He started his career in a butcher shop ran by his grandfather and father, in Morocco. The family also raised a livestock farm. Yassine helped with the family business throughout his school years.

As the time came for the young man to try life on his own, he found an opportunity in Carrefour, Dubai. Yassine officially became an educated and certified butcher. He worked for Carrefour for 4 years as a supervisor, providing perfectly cut pieces of meat, and ordering goods from different suppliers.

Yassine’s experience has been a great asset for Hello Chef. When he joined our team, he already had a number of great connections with quality suppliers, and the list is expanding.

Yassine wants to source as much locally produced ingredients as possible.

“I like everything that comes into the Hello Chef kitchen these days. Fresh fish, chicken, meat, and dairy. Beautiful vegetables, and for example mushrooms that are grown in a special mushroom farm in Sharjah.”

Many ingredients that go to Hello Chef boxes are prepared in-house: for example all the tasty sausages.

“Freshness is everything. Especially with things like meat: steaks have to be cut, and mince has to be grounded just before closing the boxes for delivery. That way the product will keep in great condition until it’s time to cook, and the food will taste delicious.”

Needless to say, butchery is Yassine’s passion. Equally needless to say that we feel very lucky to have Yassine in our team!
